THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Anatolia Turkish Cafe Restaurant Review:

One of Capitol Hill’s answers to exotic cooking, Anatolia attracts eager lunchtime crowds from nearby government offices to its dark and mysterious interior, accented with just enough Turkish tidbits for authenticity. Anatolia offers a good introduction to Turkish cuisine, turning out simple and uncomplicated dishes with subdued flavors. Start with the lahmacun, a Turkish-style pizza of finely ground lamb and savory seasonings sprinkled on oil-brushed pita. Move on to kebabs (lamb, chicken, beef or combinations) or a house special, such as the izgara kofte, a platter of ground lamb patties as small as eggs and as familiar as hamburgers. Sleepy? Small cups of intense Turkish coffee will jolt you awake. Conclude with Turkish flan or baklava.
