THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Andale! Restaurant Review:
This teensy-weensy taqueria in Somerville comes mighty close to approximating a roadside stand in Oaxaca. Gringos and Hub long timers alike salivate over a small and exuberantly flavorful selection of Mexican street food. Burritos are laden with garlicky bisteck (grilled steak), earthy portobellos, or mashed potatoes. Sincronizadas are gargantuan sandwich-like constructions of two flour tortillas stuffed with everything the house can muster; the alambre combines cheese, peppers, onion, bacon and steak. Akin to turnovers, pupusas are one of a small number of Salvadoran specialties that are available---a crossover item youll find at many a taco shack on the Left Coast. We find no fault in Andales sauces: a salsa verde of tomatillo and cilantro and a colorado sauce thats laced with spunky red chiles.
