Andrei's Conscious Cuisine & Cocktails Restaurant Review

: Andrei's Conscious Cuisine & Cocktails is a labor of love for OC socialite and entrepreneur Natalia Olenicoff, who opened this organic two-story restaurant in memory of her late brother. The venue’s green philosophy works in concert with a smart sense of sophistication. Marble accents, recycled wood floors, a centralized bar, subdued shades and a floor-to-ceiling lobby waterfall help create a lively vibe that is decidedly metropolitan in nature. The restaurant’s sense of harmony sets the stage for French-born chef Yves Fournier's Cal-Mediterranean cuisine. Start with a refreshing cocktail paired with such small plates as the tender octopus salad with chorizo and vegetable arancini, or a flatbread like the spicy Moroccan chicken with kalamata olives. Next, select a glass of wine from the well-chosen list to complement your main course. Orange-infused boneless braised beef short ribs with cipollini onions and baby carrots served with garlic, sage and ricotta gnocchi display the chef’s knack for hitting well-rounded flavor notes. Pastry chef Elyssa Fournier, who is the chef’s wife, creates all the desserts, highlighted by the decadent chocolate cheesecake accompanied by caramel sauce.

Andrei's is a gem - the restaurant I've been waiting for since I'-ve lived and worked in Irvine. I've been there over a dozen times now, for lunch and dinner, with my parties consisting of all foodies and we love this new place. The entire staff is attentive, welcoming and caring, from chef Yves (who we knew from his previous restaurant) and his wife Elyssa (pastry chef) to the managers, servers and even the valet!
The food is exciting.The small plates: "ham and cheese", filo encrusted shrimp, clams, "surf & turf" skewers, risotto balls, and others were all great.
At lunch, I like the flatbread with sausage and mushroom. The sweet potato fries with Oregon blue cheese dressing are great too. For dinner the roast chicken is very tender and flavorful. The lamb tasting with marinated chops plus Osso Bucco is fantastic. Some sides I like are the roasted root veggies, risotto, fingerling potatoes, and spinach.
For dessert the creme brulee is good. The fruit tarts are buttery with incredible fruit and the chocolate brownie cake is excellent. It comes with peanut butter ice cream and rasberries.
My friends and I have toured a lot in OC, and this has become our new favorite. Highly recommended!
