Andrew's 228 Restaurant Review: Florence meets downtown Tallahassee in this ultra-chic, multi-level eatery that's part urban villa, part Southern hospitality. Andrew's 228 is the refined cousin to boisterous, casual Andrew's Capital Grill & Bar, located in the same restored historic-district brick building with a view of the state Capitol. Grab a seat in the intimate upper dining room, within sight of the soothing water wall, and order from the menu of 600 martinis. Hearty appetites will appreciate Italian comfort foods like risotto and gnocchi. There's also trendier fare, including sushi-grade tuna prepared in a variety of ways, tempura-battered fried oysters and butternut squash ravioli with a sage-scented cream sauce. Bacon-wrapped filet mignon, rack of lamb and grouper piccata round out the menu. For dessert, there might be a warm apple brown Betty, a seasonal favorite. |
