Anepalco, Orange, CA

Anepalco Restaurant Review

: This neighborhood lunch favorite is an elegant, earth-toned space tucked inside the ALO Hotel about a block south of Angel Stadium. Chef/owner Daniel Godinez ensures that his unique blend of Mexican cuisine with French influences is as tasty as that at the original establishment in the Orange Circle. The dinner menu is full of playful items that highlight this unique culinary synergy, from starters such as ahi tartare made with Mexican chiles and pepitas oil to achiote-marinated beef crêpes served with a jalapeño chimichurri sauce. For mains, we recommend the tilapia accompanied with a Serrano beurre blanc or the tender al adobo steak complemented by a side of chilaquiles. Lunchtime crowds will find an eclectic array of sandwiches, crêpes and fusion-inspired burgers. While some may gravitate toward the small but interesting list of craft beers, wine lovers might want to explore the sturdy catalogue of Mexican labels. The restaurant presents Sunday brunch service offering quiches, crêpes and classic Mexican breakfast items. Also located at 415 S. Main St., Orange, 714-771-2333.
