Angeli On Decatur Restaurant Review: Angeli's allure may be credited both to its satisfying, inexpensive food and its colorful ambience. Old tile-and-wood floors, weathered columns and movies projected onto the patina-covered wall behind the bar contribute to the funky feel. Abetting the atmosphere is the clientele of French Quarter residents, tourists and bar-hoppers. Generously portioned appetizers (try the “Divine Portabella” with grilled chicken) to gyros and chicken pizzas drive the menu. Bread baked in-house elevates the sandwiches above the ordinary, no matter what the filling. Angeli does not offer much in the way of wines (one red and one white), but the full bar is nicely stocked. A surprisingly first-rate tiramisu for dessert is available, too. Situated on a high-traffic corner that makes for great people-watching, the place is open so late it's almost early: until 2 a.m. during the week and until 4 a.m. on weekends. Delivery is available in the French Quarter and to the Faubourg Marigny.
