THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Anokha Indian Restaurant Restaurant Review: Located in the heart of Coconut Grove for the past five years, Anokha offers a tranquil ambience in which to partake of flavorful fare from all parts of the Indian sub-continent. Start with one of the specialty poori and naan breads from Anokha's clay oven, then delve into a spicy lamb rogan gosh from the Kasmiri region, stewed in red curry and spiked with saffron and cloves. Other favorites include chicken tandoori, zesty lamb kebabs, and any of the piquant vindaloos, particularly vindaloo murghi, a fiery brew of chicken, garlic and green chilies. Authentic Indian desserts are an acquired taste, and this is as good a place as any to start. Two of the best: gulab jamun, fried milk balls with the consistency of a very light cake, soaked in sugar syrup, then barely scented with rosewater and cardamom; and kulfi, a rich ice cream with finely chopped pistachios and almonds frozen in a conical mold. Most entrées run from $10-$20, with some specials topping the $30 mark---a small price to pay for the area's finest Indian fare.
