Arancino di Mare Restaurant Review: The red checkerboard vinyl tablecloth is a tip off that this is casual Italian dining, but executive chef Daisuke Hamamoto still has a few things up his sleeve. To start, try the scallop carpaccio topped with black tobiko, local sea asparagus and a light Champagne vinaigrette. Pastas include the spaghetti ai ricci di mare --- the creamy, briny richness of sea urchin over al dente pasta. Wash it all down with Peroni on tap and be sure to save room for gelato affogato for dessert. For breakfast, choose from a variety of crêpes or opt for a small, fixed menu. The outdoor patio offers front row seats to the Waikiki pedestrian scene as sun-drenched passersby head to and from the beach.
