ART Restaurant & Lounge Restaurant Review

: Located across from the Seattle Art Museum (hence its name), ART’s views of Elliott Bay, serene atmosphere, and modern, elegant interior make it a good choice for business dinners or an intimate rendezvous for two. The menu is casual yet sophisticated, creative yet grounded. Chef Jelle Vandenbroucke has joined executive chef Kerry Sear and seems to be adding a bit more flair. For starters, order the potato ricotta gnocchi or clever chilled “corn milk & cookies” featuring corn bisque served with jalapeño biscotti. Our favorite entrées include seared Indian spiced salmon, Dungeness crab-cucumber cannelloni, red bean miso glazed Alaskan cod, and the grilled double lamb chop served with eggplant cumin purée. Desserts range from vanilla bean-dusted donut holes to three petite Key lime cheesecakes paired with lemon salad and margarita foam. An affordable way to experience ART is during happy hour (daily, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.) in the lounge, which is known for its cheese buffet featuring more than two dozen choices and $5 glasses of wine. As one might expect, the wine list is expertly chosen and expensive, and service is professional.
