THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Austin Grill Restaurant Review:

To pigeonhole Austin Grill as a national Tex-Mex chain would be partly accurate, yet totally unfair. The menu is a rambling, several-page affair that is quite typical at first glance. Taco salads, nachos and chili con queso all figure prominently. There’s a lowest-common denominator element at work. But deeper examination---as anyone in the smiling legions of dining MIT techies will tell you---is in order. Chef Jim Fahey, who helped give Forrest Café a name, is proof of this restaurants sneaky seriousness. Tacos are stuffed with shrimp and lapped with a chipotle sauce that has layers of flavor. Roast chicken comes with a turnover of mole and cheese. Lamb chops are tart, smoky, and peppy in their pineapple-chipotle glaze. The monstrous, industrially-informed room fits the area neatly.
