Aux Vivres Restaurant Review: Aux Vivres grew from a tiny eatery to a larger community venue that attracts new audiences for its vegan fare, such as chapati sandwiches, hearty salads, veggie burgers and soups, carefully prepared using organic local produce. The “burger portobello” is served on a whole-wheat bun with caramelized onions, tomato, lettuce, pickle and chipotle mayo, while the BLT is composed with coconut bacon. Smoothies sound exotic, with names like Bombay banana, Tropicalia or The Freestyle, which offers a unique blend of celery, pineapple, orange juice and banana. An entire menu is devoted to organic teas and herbal infusions. Desserts range from chocolate banana pie and carrot cake to simple brownies or cookies.
