You will discover plenty to enjoy at this authentic Greek eatery. There's always a party going on, lots of warm hospitality and personable servers, many who have worked here for decades. In fact, they’ll entertain your baby and converse with everyone at the table. Ordering the combination platters or family-style selections is the best option for large groups to allow many items to be sampled. The lengthy menu encompasses most traditional Greek dishes, including a garlicky tzatziki, lemony hummus, crispy fried squid, grape leaves, tender cubes of grilled lamb, and a dramatic flaming ouzo-soaked cheese. Gyros are huge, as is the Greek salad brimming with feta cheese and olives. In a nice change from the standard pita, Alexis stocks tables with baskets of its own hearty, thickly-crusted bread. For beverages, choose from a range of retsinas, ouzo, wine and beer. And for dessert? It's sweet, flaky baklava, of course.
