Cactus Club Café Coal Harbour Restaurant Review:

Seductive views of the North Shore Mountains, Stanley Park and the Olympic Cauldron framing bustling Coal Harbour create a breathtaking backdrop. Indoors, a collection of Warhols, Basquiats and a Mr. Brainwash or two set the dining room stage. A smart and savory menu from Canada's first Iron Chef Rob Feenie, Cactus Club's intrepid executive chef for all its locations, will entice. Sip a cocktail or peruse the wine list with food-friendly selections from near and far, including a pair styled by chef Feenie: Feenie Goes Haywire red and white. The Asian-inflected tuna stack made with local albacore tuna, citrus tamari vinaigrette, nori, sesame, avocado, micro cilantro and wonton chips is a winner. The Kobe-style meatball trio with roasted tomato sauce and freshly grated Parmesan raises the bar for meatballs. Must-have mains include butternut squash and mascarpone ravioli with truffle butter, plus sautéed jumbo prawns, and Rob's Hunter chicken, an earthy dish paired with mushrooms, demi-glace, Yukon Gold potatoes and green beans. Pan-roasted ling cod and veal, along with porcini pappardelle, are other popular choices. There are also several tender cuts of steak on offer, and a raft of burgers and sandwiches. For dessert, consider the peanut butter crunch bar and Key lime pie. Service is warm and properly attentive.
