Huntley Taverne Restaurant Review:

There’s a buzz here that’s almost as enjoyable as the food, the wine and the fine service. The atmosphere alone is welcoming --- hardwood floors, a handsome Arts and Crafts architectural style, lots of gleaming copper in the kitchen and aromas that give early warning of a memorable dinner underway. Seasonal fare includes dishes such as mussels from local waters prepared with pancetta, fennel, Swiss chard, fresh oregano, a splash of white wine, and crushed New Jersey tomato, the whole, topped with a pesto crouton; and tender grilled hanger steak finished with fragrant, flavorful chimichurri and accompanied by Blooming Glen heirloom tomatoes sprinkled with garden herbs. The wine list is broad and offers a wide array of price options. For dessert, ponder the berry and rhubarb parfait with layers of Bob’s Buzzy Bee Honey oat crumble, rhubarb compote, cardamom crème fraîche and honey brittle.
