Izumi's Japanese Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Izumi’s straddles traditional and contemporary takes on Japanese cuisine, from hand-rolled maki, sushi and sashimi at the sushi bar in back to a Friday fish fry served in a bento box with a side of plum wine. Expect a lively environment most any night of the week in a building with high ceilings and Art Deco architecture that was once the Milwaukee Western Fuel Company. Both hot and cold saké (try the cold saké sampler) are on the menu, along with a nice selection of wines. Needless to say, the sushi menu is quite extensive, hosting everything from à la carte rolls to platters perfect for a large group. Some are signature options, like the Izumi Roll (tamago, shrimp, eel, spinach and cucumber). Of course, you could always make a meal of appetizers like fish broth or soybean paste soup, along with fried tofu or bacon-wrapped scallops.
