R & O's Restaurant Review:

R & O's Creole-Italian repertoire boasts full flavors and prices are low, although the restaurant’s loud and chaotic ambience also is part of its appeal. Overly-bright lights and tables way too close together may sound unappealing, but somehow it all works just fine. (Be prepared to wait for a table, but things move pretty fast.) Olive salads, thin-crust pizzas and squares of thick, silky house-made cheesecake are worth the drive to Lake Pontchartrain. Splash some of the meaty country gravy over anything from french fries to po' boys to french fry po' boys. Oh, and about those po’ boys: try the fried shrimp or roast beef versions. The roast beef po' boy is a local favorite. In season, R & O's is good for kids and adults to plunge their hands into mounds of nicely boiled crawfish. There's a wine list, but it's quite limited.
