WeHo Bistro Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: In a twist on “An American in Paris” by George Gershwin, here we have a très French bistro in America by Jeff Douek. Located in West Hollywood at the busy intersection of La Cienega Boulevard and Holloway Drive, the round building is surrounded by a terrace lined with blooming geraniums, giving quite some charm to this restaurant. It is open daily from morning until evening and serves any dish at any time of the day --- even breakfast at night if this is your wish. The gargantuan menu has created a large clientele of habitués: there are so many tasty items to choose from that it is easy to return and try something different each time, so you won’t get bored by the food. Most of the patrons know each other and are very often welcomed by Douek.

Likes: Free parking at the CVS parking structure.
Dislikes: Can be difficult to get a table during brunch on Sundays.

About the food & drinks: The Breakfast section offers many variations of egg dishes (omelette, scrambled, benedict, with filet mignon, create-your-own). Bien sûr, expect to find croissants, crêpes (both savory and sweet), the famous couple Croque-Monsieur and Croque-Madame, sandwiches made with baguettes, escargots à la bourguignonne, quiches, pâtés, fromage, niçoise salad and a cheesy French onion soup. There are a few must-haves (we had them so we can advocate for them): the cream of mushroom soup, the cucumber and tzatziki tartine and the lamb burger. Other offerings include chicken dijonnaise, magret de canard (duck breast) served with a Cognac and honey sauce, and shrimp à la Provençale. If you cross the borders of France, you can indulge in caprese or Greek salad, gazpacho, Portuguese style cod, pastas, turkey meatloaf or bacon-wrapped filet mignon with peppercorn sauce. Finish with the crunchy hazelnut chocolate cake or the decadent homemade bread pudding stuffed with raisins and topped with homemade vanilla ice cream and caramel. The alcohol is limited to wines from France and Italy, with some Californians. The teas are from the Parisian tea house Mariage Frères. Moroccan mint tea is brewed upon request, and all fruit juices are freshly squeezed. You can also opt for a smoothie.
