Baang Cafe & Bar Restaurant Review

: The lively and hip Baang Café & Bar features an Asian-fusion menu with dishes that we prefer to tackle family-style: miso salmon tartare with seaweed salad and pickled ginger on sushi rice, or the dim sum, consisting of edamame and shrimp and chicken dumplings with a ponzu dipping sauce. For a taste of classical Chinese, try the barbecued spare ribs in sesame honey sauce. Among our favorite entrées are the grilled beef in hot oil with cilantro, shallots and soy, and the comparably mild sautéed Chilean sea bass with black rice, stir-fried vegetables and sweet chili miso sauce. Afterwards, sink your spoon into the soothing sweetness of a ginger ice cream sandwich with poached apricots and caramel drizzle. The wine list, which leans toward California selections, includes Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays, Cabernets and Sauvignon Blancs.
