THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Babylon Restaurant Review:

Walk into Derry Street for the entrance to a restaurant with glorious views from the 7th floor of what was once one of London's most venerable shops. In summer get there early to grab a table on the terrace (not bookable in advance), and from May to September there’s the added attraction of a barbecue at lunch Monday to Friday, and at dinner Monday to Thursday. The roof gardens themselves are one floor down, complete with unlikely, real pink flamingoes and pools. A contemporary European menu hits all the right buttons and dishes are skillfully and delicately prepared, from sautéed scallops with marinated kohlrabi and a radicchio and apple salad or roast quail with young vegetables as starters, to summer truffle risotto or confit duck with peas and baby gem lettuce, plus simply cooked fresh fish dishes. There’s a good wine list, heavily weighted to the New World. Service is professional and smart. It's very romantic, effortlessly imparting the feeling of being somewhere other than right in central London. Lunch Mon.-Fri. 2 courses £21.50, 3 courses £24.50; Sat. 2 courses £22, 3 courses £25; Sun. 2 courses £26, 3 courses £29.
