Back Eddy Restaurant Review

: Set smack dab on Horseneck Beach in trendy Westport---with plenty of deck seating to match---the Back Eddy combines the casual air of a clam shack with the creative cuisine of a city seafooder. No wonder the long lines contain sandal-clad urbanites and locals alike. Though East Coast Grill’s Chris Schlesinger no longer owns the joint, his influence remains apparent in playful yet heat-packing, Caribbean- or Asian-tinged creations like mussels steamed with coconut milk, ginger and chilies. That said, you’ll also find menu items reflecting a non-Schlesingerian restraint, including plenty of classically prepared New England seafood---raw, steamed and fried. By the way, if the wait is too much---and it often is---hit the pub for quicker grub.
