Baja Burrito Restaurant Review:
This funky little spot fits comfortably into the artsy Berry Hill neighborhood. And Baja Burrito’s formula is well-known: build your signature burrito, taco or salad cafeteria-style with the help of friendly and quick-moving folks on the other side of the counter. Start with tortilla choices --- flour, wheat, spinach or sun-dried tomato --- then choose meats, cheese, onion, cilantro and house-made guacamole. The beef for the barbacoa comes from Middle Tennessee, and the chicken tinga is delightfully tangy. Even the salads come with fresh house-made offering such as the tomatillo vinaigrette. Fish tacos with cabbage and spicy rémoulade are a favorite, and the salsas, from the medium to the hot pineapple to the tomatillo, are free. Make sure to try the horchata, a sweet drink made with rice and cinnamon, for dessert. Baja Burrito also offers gourmet Mexican popsicles from local producer "Las Paletas," which means "popsicles" in Mexican Spanish. A few domestic and imported beers and a limited wine selection make for good quaffing.
