 Bambara Restaurant Review: Located inside the très chic Hotel Marlowe in Kendall Square, this sexy, contemporary restaurant attracts a formidable after-work crowd. The kitchen is headed up by chef Jay Silva of former Sage and Pho Republique fame, who brings to the table his signature steak frites slow roasted with tomatoes, arugula and peppercorn sauce. The seared yellowfin tuna is somewhat traditional with a sesame crust and soy glaze, but what makes the dish shine is the sweet addition of coconut rice and green mango salad. One of the absolute must-haves is the butter-poached lobster sliders served on toasted brioche rolls. The warm caramel date cake and bread pudding with caramelized bananas are a great way to end the night. Local techies like the weekday “happier hour,” where five appetizers are available for just $2 each. Paired up with a few red berry cosmos, the week looks that much happier. |
