Bambou Asian Tapas & Bar Restaurant Review

: A menu of Chinese, Japanese, Thai and other Asian fare is offered in a subdued yet stylish setting at Bambou. The emphasis is on inventive takes on classic street and comfort food. Regional standards are available, as well as inventive and sometimes quirky flavor combinations that nevertheless work. Beef teriyaki is infused with cranberry while the original recipe for chicken fried rice is preserved. Specialty rolls get a creative twist and artful presentation: a steamed lobster roll, composed of steamed lobster tail with mango and cucumber, is topped with a spicy lobster ginger sauce. The Pink Panther roll, with spicy tuna finished with crushed peanuts and wrapped in pink soy paper, is attractively arrayed. Delicate miso-glazed Chilean sea bass with sautéed bok choy and jícama and shiitake mushrooms (best enjoyed with a side of steamed white rice), and seared chicken with sautéed mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes are among the well-executed entrées.
