Bar-Acuda Restaurant Review: Like an oasis in the desert, this sharp little tapas restaurant has refreshed the otherwise rather dreary culinary world of Kauai's North Shore. Owner-chef Jim Moffat is innovative and devoted to fresh, seasonal foods, and his passion is reflected in the brief menu he regularly creates anew. You might encounter local honeycomb and goat cheese paired with apple; slow-braised pork shoulder with polenta and apple cider reduction; seared Hawaiian fish with local tomato and macadamia nut pesto; salt cod with potatoes, garlic and cream; house-cured chorizo; or any number of items to share. The dining room is warmly intimate, or you can relax amid lush greenery and fresh air at a table on the wide, covered wooden porch.
