This restaurant housed in the Eventi hotel is a feast for the senses. Syd Mead, who designed the sets for space-age movies “Tron,” “Blade Runner” and “Aliens,” created a similar theme for the restaurant, installing blue computer-chip-like backlighting to contrast with deep red walls and a spacious outdoor terrace (that is fully enclosed in glass in the cold weather months). Chef Yuhi Fujinaga’s menu, as the name of the restaurant suggests, focuses on Spain’s Basque region, and is hearty, even when it’s not meant to be. A nicely executed diver scallop, for example, is paired with crispy jowl; a crispy farm egg comes in a baseball-size croquette-like form. Fujinaga can also be inventive: the oxtail bread ravioli is a tender piece of oxtail encased in a crunchy box of bread. The wine list focuses primarily on Spain, and if you can’t decide on a selection, there’s an automatic wine dispenser built into a wall holding 32 wines, where guests can pour themselves tasting sizes or full glasses.
