 Barcelona Restaurant & Wine Bar Restaurant Review: Barcelona Restaurant & Wine Bar exudes warmth, with sturdy wooden seating and dark leather booths. Its Spanish-Med menu features an extensive selection of tapas. Of these, we suggest the cuttlefish, tender and judiciously seasoned with garlic, lemon and pepper, along with the crispy calamari served with smoked tomato aïoli. The small plates are exactly that and meant to be shared, so ordering several is key. Classic tapas include spinach-chickpea casserole with cumin and garlic confit, herbed goat cheese and mushrooms in a balsamic reduction, empanadas with spiced beef, and grilled hanger steak with black truffle sauce. The charcuterie is mix-and-match: while the sheep's milk cheeses can be overpowering, the cantimpalo (a dry-cured chorizo) and the jamón Serrano are a match for it. With more than 30 wines by the glass and an emphasis on some of the more obscure Spanish and Latin varietals, the wine list is worth a good look, too. The array of wines make the dessert list even more tempting. Pair a cava with the seasonal fruit crisp created using choice fruits from the season's harvest, or stay true to regional selections and try the creamy flan Catalan. |
