| While many traditional Maine waterside restaurants close down for the season, Bartley's keeps the lobster loving going all year long. Get lobster 12 ways, including as a decadent baked stuffed lobster, or opt for a thick steak --- all familiar and comforting. The hearty bouillabaisse includes an ocean’s worth of seafood floating in tomato broth --- and there are always four or five steaks to choose from on the menu. Don't look for an upscale ambience though. Neither the political memorabilia covering the walls or the proximity to one of the busiest thoroughfares in touristy Kennebunkport makes for a relaxing repast. But if you are in the mood for simply prepared seafood and a little old-fashioned local charm, Bartley’s is a good option. Mrs. B.’s blueberry pie is another favorite, and a fine introduction to Maine cuisine. |
