 Basil Thai Cuisine Restaurant Review: Basil turns out reasonably priced plates of spicy beef larb and beautiful curried duck; an array of fresh stir-fries come mildly spiced with more heat on request. The red, green and massaman curries with a choice of chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu are uniformly satisfying. The basil spring roll appetizer appears on virtually every table. Sweet, sticky rice makes a sweet finale. Slick but very noisy, the dining room fills quickly. The staff can handle large crowds with polish. As the restaurant does not take reservations, you will wait at peak dining times. Next door is Chai’s lounge, where you can have a glass of wine while waiting. |
