THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED bb's at The River Restaurant Review:
When a decade-old venue closed its doors at The River, entrepreneur Jack Srebnik jumped on the chance to fill the void. He created an inviting destination in which to serve California cuisine with plenty of options for imbibers, too. The menu is straightforward, offering an array of appetizers, salads, pizzas, burgers, seafood and chops. A lot of the dishes have cutesy names that, frankly, we can do without, like "Gandhi’s Grub" (yes, it’s a vegetarian pizza) or the “mind-blowing” Timothy Leary burger, complete with sautéed mushrooms. Look beyond this and you’ll discover a tasty meatloaf sandwich, wrapped in bacon with mozzarella and red onions and served on sourdough bread. Kalbi bone-in beef ribs are a nice starter, brushed with a sweet Korean marinade then grilled and finished with sesame seeds and tangy sauce for dipping. The New York steak was a treat with its Gorgonzola cream sauce, fried onion strings and mashed potatoes. bb’s has a great patio, but with the river now dry due to the drought and water restrictions, the better seats are indoors.
