Beach House Restaurant Restaurant Review: This well situated oceanfront restaurant has consistently maintained its gastronomic reputation through a number of chefs. This is also one of the island's few places to eat right on the water, adjoining Prince Kuhio Park with its striking sunsets and great surfer-watching. Beach House manages to be both elegant and casual, with outdoor tables fronting a coastal promenade and a sophisticated, eclectic menu. The emphasis is on quality local ingredients. The blackened ahi Caesar with feta and Parmesan is so fresh and well-seasoned it reminds us of why this now standard salad was invented. Other menu items may range from wasabi-crusted island catch with lilikoi lemongrass beurre blanc to grilled pork loin with yukon gold pork belly hash, local mushroom and bok choy stir-fry, and bacon Madeira reduction. Indulge in bananas Foster or Hawaiian carrot cake with macadamia nuts, pineapple and classic cream cheese frosting for dessert. The wine list is heavy on California offerings.
