 This fabulously situated oceanfront restaurant has consistently maintained its gastronomic reputation through a number of chefs. This is also one of the island's few places to eat right on the water, adjoining Prince Kuhio Park with its stunning sunsets and great surfer-watching. The Beach House manages to be both elegant and casual, with outdoor tables fronting a coastal promenade and a sophisticated, eclectic menu. The emphasis is on top-quality local ingredients. The blackened ahi Caesar with feta and Parmesan is so fresh and well-seasoned it reminds us of why this now standard salad was invented. Other menu stars here are a crispy crab-stuffed ahi roll; macadamia nut-crunchy crab cake with a red bell pepper aïoli; braised lamb shank with a Dijon-mint rub; and wasabi-crusted snapper with a lilikoi lemon grass beurre blanc.
