Beach House Restaurant Restaurant Review: Despite changing chefs over the years, this well-placed oceanfront restaurant has maintained its reputation. Beach House manages to be elegant and casual, with outdoor tables fronting a coastal promenade and a sophisticated, eclectic menu. It's also one of the island's few places to eat right on the water, adjoining Prince Kuhio Park, which offers striking sunsets and outstanding surfer-watching. The emphasis is on quality local ingredients. The blackened ahi Caesar with feta and Parmesan is so fresh and well-seasoned it reminds us of why this now-standard salad was invented. Other menu items include the tangy Beach House ceviche; Chinese five-spice-crusted lamb sirloin; furikake-dusted ahi with wasabi mashed potatoes; and a rich lobster and Fontina mac 'n' cheese. Definitely indulge in the Molten Chocolate Desire or tropical sorbet for dessert. The wine list is heavy on California offerings.
