 The Beachhouse carries on the elegance of the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa. Shades of white and cream give the dining room a serene feel, and the lanai features expansive ocean views. The kitchen utilizes local ingredients, as evidenced in the caprese salad made with Hamakua tomatoes. Other worthwhile starters include the lomi lomi salmon garnished with truffled crème fraîche and caviar or the seafood platter for two or four piled with sashimi, king crab and oysters. Main dishes comprise high-end steaks and island seafood. For dessert, opt for the dark rum crème brûlée or the chocolate volcano cake topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The three-course tasting menu ($90) offers an array of the chef’s favorite dishes. The wine list is varied, and pairings are suggested below each dish on the menu. Also available are selections that are bottled for the restaurant’s house label, including Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. The great service is especially welcoming. Breakfast and afternoon tea are also served here, but in the daytime this venue goes by a different name: The Veranda.
