THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Situated in the former Oyamel location, Roberto Donna’s Bebo (his nickname as a child) has much the same feel as the former restaurant, but, of course, patrons at the bar get a chance to glimpse Donna himself operating in the kitchen. The menu features pastas, risottos, grilled dishes and pizzas cooked in the wood-burning oven. If you sit at the bar, you can order from a bar menu or from the main one; the former offers diners the chance to indulge in a number of small plates, such as a delicate salad of shaved fennel, orange, green olives and red onion. But don’t skip the main menu: the pork ribs slowly braised in tomato sauce with cannellini beans are divine. Sides include a silken polenta with Parmesan, a good partner for the pork. You might also consider one of Donna’s pizzas. How about the version with Gorgonzola, onions, ricotta and fresh mozzarella? For people who appreciate Donna’s skill but don’t have a bulging pocketbook, Bebo offers them a chance to dine with the chef at affordable prices.
