THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Belvedere Restaurant Review:

An Irish guy opens a Spanish tapas restaurant in the ethnically diverse and student-heavy Allston-Brighton neighborhood---and it is a hit. The same Irish guy decides to take a shot in the Italian stronghold of the North End. He finds a good space, in the former Café Ravello. Welcome to the world of Dan McMyler, one of Boston's most unsung and unlikeliest proprietors. His spot, The Belvedere, is a straight-shooter with a Mediterranean-influenced tapas selection, a dessert menu and a small bar. It's a highly useful place, a McMyler signature, which fills some of the area's gaps: a good bar, a place to have dessert that is not a café or pastry shop, and a menu not unlike the one at Tasca, likable but not too heavy (like some of the inferior North End trattorias) or trendy (like one might find South End way) either way.
