In this red-roofed log cabin, Ben Mooris smokes meats slowly in a brick oven, using hickory and sometimes applewood or wild cherry to impart a delicate flavor. Gnaw on tender ribs or pulled pork as is, or slather on Ben’s own blend of barbecue sauce, sweet with apple cider. Sides are yummy: sweet potato soufflé (goes well with the smoked turkey), baked beans with bits of bacon and onion and a delicious moist cornbread.
