Bertucci's Brick Oven Pizzeria Restaurant Review: Bertucci’s may be a chain, but each of its restaurants provides a warm, stylish setting in which to grab a casual, family-friendly bite to eat. Fire-baked pizzas are available with classic, custom and inventive toppings, including such seasonal choices as roasted butternut squash and blue cheese. They can also be ordered “Roman-style” --- extra-large and square-cut, designed for group consumption. Pastas are serviceable, from rigatoni Abruzzi with roasted peppers and sweet sausage to spaghetti with Bolognese sauce. Calzones are whoppers, stuffed to the gills and slathered with a sprightly tomato sauce. And --- in a surprise move for a place best-known for its pizzas and pastas --- Bertucci’s inaugurated a gluten-free menu as well. The children’s menu is more extensive than most, and includes whole-wheat and multi-grain options. Reservations are not taken for small parties, but you can call ahead to shorten the wait. |
