 Besito Restaurant Review: Chef Matthew Lake's Mexican restaurant in Huntington Village has an upscale and chic vibe and food that does not disappoint. Dark wood floors and brown accents craft an upscale Mexican folk art look, and the dim candlelight provides the ideal atmosphere in which to enjoy the authentic fare. The flautas de pollo are an appetizing set-up for an entrée of budin de mariscos, a tortilla pie of shrimp and jumbo lump crab covered in a poblano cream sauce. The platanos fritos, served with crema, are a classic side that pair well with any dish, and the same goes for the crisp white sangría de Besito. Caramel flan served with peaches and blackberries is a smooth and subtly sweet ending to the meal. Besito also offers a full tequila menu of over two dozen selections, available as shots or in a variety of house-made margaritas. |
