Bidwell Street Bistro Restaurant Review: Relaxed yet refined, unpretentious yet upscale, this inviting French bistro offers warm hospitality and quality cuisine. It has found a following among Folsom locals, and is a popular choice for both casual lunches or celebratory dinners. The menu is modeled after those of Parisian bistros, and features both traditional French dishes as well as some with a California twist. Starters include grilled wild boar sausages with huckleberry compote and fried calamari with jalapeño and cilantro lime aïoli, while mains range from duck confit with honey glazed peaches to seared Australian lamb sirloin with salsa verde. Don't pass on dessert: white chocolate cheesecake with fresh berries and bittersweet chocolate truffle cake with raspberry coulis. Wash it all down with one of the many California or French wines. |
