Biella Restaurant Review: It used to be that the well-heeled of southern Lake Minnetonka had nowhere to dine locally except brewpubs and burger joints. That was before Biella. This warm little Italian jewel is a dining destination for the area. No one seems to mind being packed closely together when the tables are surrounded by brick walls washed in earth tones and a lively open kitchen at the back. Food is done with flair and sophistication, leaning toward Italian but unafraid to venture in interesting directions. The menu strikes a successful balance, offering a roasted chicken and a richly decadent salmon Wellington filled with foie gras mousse. The wine list is very good and quite extensive for a small place. Little bumps in service, like running out of martini glasses or bringing the wrong wine, may occur a touch too often, but are graciously and efficiently remedied. |
