THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Biggs Restaurant Review:

On the northern edge of the Belmont Shore retail corridor, Bret Witke’s spacious restaurant features high walls painted moss and grey, black shelves lined with Spanish pottery, and an art-lined back bar. Chef Seth Greenburg prepares a large menu of Mediterranean small plates using seasonal ingredients---which might include selections like an open-faced grilled cheese with guanciale, fried egg and harissa; caramelized cipollini onions with cave-aged Gruyère; and salumi meatballs. More substantial dishes appear on the dinner menu, also available at lunch, with winners like braised pork with gremolata and seafood-filled parchment with corn, leeks, sea beans and ginger. Desserts are equally creative, such as baby banana and raspberry brown butter tarts with a double-dollop of house-made whipped cream. To drink, there are 16 mostly affordable wines and fresh fruit cocktails like the Pink Grapefruitini and Blackberry Mojito. Biggs is less crowded by day and sizzles at night. With a no reservation policy, there can be a short wait at dinner, but it is well worth it.
