Birba Restaurant Review

: Nestled next to the breakfast and lunch venue Cheeky's, owned by the same couple, sharing the same street address and the same young and relaxed spirit, Birba is a cocktail bar that takes pizza to places it hasn't gone before, at least not in Palm Springs. Salads are as fresh and the pizzas as original as any Cheeky's habitué would expect. The most popular pie is probably the least original; it features co-owner Tara Lazar’s house-made sausage, with mushroom and onion. And while it's very good, it's also well worth checking out one of her white pizzas (egg, pancetta, pecorino and spring onion; asparagus, Fontina, purple potato and pesto). Consider, too, the pillowy homemade ricotta gnocchi with tomato alla vodka. Cap off the meal with butterscotch pudding or homemade ice cream. Cocktails include a habanero margarita that gives a kick to the honored classic.
