THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bistro Daniel Restaurant Review:
This small basement bistro-style restaurant under its big sister Amandier (see Restaurants) offers good French cooking at a reasonable price. The menu is long, but simple starters like assiette of French charcuterie (£6.50) and crab-fish soup (£5.30) are well-sourced and prepared. Main dishes run from braised knuckle of lamb with confits, garlic and thyme jus (£8.50), to pan-fried lemon sole simply meuniere and garnished with capers and lemon (£11.50). The 2-course lunch menu is a steal at £9.95 (3 courses £12.95). The room is a little gloomy, but tries hard with bright furnishings; the staffs welcome is truly genuine.
