| Mesa got a lot closer to achieving big city status when this sharp New Mexican-Southwestern venue came to town. The adventurous menu wins hearts with crisp-crusted gourmet pizzas, lobster-green chile dip with chips and spicy specialties. The Taos Combo, which includes a beef tenderloin relleno, shrimp enchilada and honey-pork tamale, provides a good overview of the New Mexican side of the menu. Meanwhile, the Tucumcari tenderloin, napped with jalapeño béarnaise and served with veggies, chipotle pasta and a mashed potato-stuffed green chile, is flat out impressive. Finish up with a Manzano sopapilla, a puffy apple-pecan number served with vanilla bean ice cream that cools the mouth and adds at least an inch to the waistline. |
