THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Blue Agave Restaurant Review: Named for the plant from which tequila derives its unique flavor, Blue Agave serves standard Mexican favorites along with creative specialties described by owner/chef Charlie Watkins, a seventh generation Texan, as Tex-Mex with a twist. The interiors are filled with Mexican folk art and pottery, and sepia-toned murals from turn of the century Mexico. For a starter, the calamari Agave is a must. Lightly breaded then sautéed in a lemon garlic pico sauce and tossed with peppers, onions and tomatoes, it serves as a superb companion to Blue Agaves superior margaritas. Along with a full spectrum of fine enchiladas, (we like the shrimp & spinach and the spinach & artichoke), youll find sizzling beef fajitas made with beef tenderloin and tender baby back ribs smoked and seasoned with Mexican spices. With a happy hour every day and $1 Margaritas on Monday, Blue Agave has a bustling bar scene that attracts an eclectic crowd. The shaded patio is a great place to enjoy the fine Sunday brunch.
