Blue Agave Restaurant Review: This Santa Barbara establishment is known for its trendy yet comfortable vibe, outdoor cigar lounge and plenty of premium tequila. The two-story room is well suited to romantic dinners. Cuddle up in a cozy booth or on the overstuffed couch in front of the fireplace. All the meats are natural and free-range, and the seafood is wild and fresh; from the beginning, Blue Agave has subscribed to the Slow Food movement. Seafood plates include Ligurian fish stew and wild salmon in a lemon-caper butter with potato purée, green beans and carrots. For the Blue Agave burger, patrons choose not only between beef or turkey, but also lamb and buffalo. Chef Serafin Ruiz’s menu drifts whimsically from steak au poivre to steak tacos. The kitchen uses organic ingredients in many dishes, including the dense chocolate cake with crème anglaise. Get it à la mode for a real treat. |
