The narrow storefront of this tiny tapas/wine bar is easily overlooked, but shouldn't be; the place's four very hands-on local proprietors (who are also old friends) have created a truly unique eating and entertainment experience. Chef Cesar Zapata's menu of not-so-small plates, many substantial enough to serve as supper, features delightfully playful, eclectic comfort-food creations: the McLuvvin (Spanish sausage, fried quail egg, and chipotle cream enlivened with crispy chicharrones); "Seal da Deal" (foie gras torchon, with surprisingly subtle black truffle vanilla ice cream and butter pecans); the Chester Cheetah (Cheetos-crusted mac 'n' cheese); mapled barbecue popcorn, which goes great with one of the lounge's craft beers. Beverage guru Aniece Meinhold's exciting wine list, concentrating on interesting and well-priced small-production biodynamic selections, is picked for pairing, too; just ask, or attend her frequent wine tastings. And nightly entertainment, mostly live jazz, is restrained---a relaxing change from resto-lounges where music contends with dining and drinking rather than complementing it.
