Blue Plate Taco Restaurant Review

: Blue Plate Taco a sister restaurant of Santa Monica's popular Blue Plate and Blue Plate Oysterette, located in the eco-friendly Shore Hotel right on Ocean Avenue with views of the Pacific. The line to get in can start in the street, so we strongly recommend that you reserve a table to enjoy the Mexican cuisine served here. Every dish on the menu is a winner, so choose what you feel like eating that evening. But don’t keep reordering the guacamole and chips, because that might mean the rest of your meal will end up being taken home. Favor a plate of the crudo del dia, a ceviche or tortilla soup to start. Then it’s on to the tacos, served with rice and beans or slaw. They can be filled with vegetables, steak, fish, chicken, lobster and very tasty pork belly. Still hungry? Try the grilled chicken with mojo de ajo or the Maine lobster enchiladas. Leave on a sweet note: churros, chocolate pot de crème or raspados (Mexican shaved ice to which you can add tequila, rum or vodka). Kids have their own menu and adults have a full bar, with margaritas and sangría (both come by the glass or in pitchers), specialty cocktails, tequilas and mezcal.
