| Cheesy plastic decor, over-enthusiastic workers and a wheat grass fetish make this take-out joint a caricature of sorts. Sometimes we get the sense that this must be what living in a co-op feels like: Lilith Fair on the boombox, beans on the stove, organic everything everywhere. Still, the Blue Shirt is one of the more agreeable versions of a so-called wraps café we’ve encountered. Mexican vegetable soup is earthy and thick enough to be called hash. Sesame chicken salad---which comes as a wrap, too---is an aromatic blend of sautéed chicken strips, jasmine rice and a soy-sesame vinaigrette. Too bad a steak burrito tastes dry enough to warrant a soaking. |
