Blue & White Carry Out Restaurant Review: One of the oddest eateries in the DC area might well be Blue & White Carry Out, because it’s small enough to fit into most master bathrooms, and features some of the best fried chicken in town. This café has a tiny kitchen in which several guys are quick-frying the chicken and spooning up mammoth portions of mashed potatoes, greens, and whatever other side pairs well. Although the kitchen does fry up liver, fish and hamburgers, plus offers a full-scale, no-calories-barred breakfast, you’d be foolish to pass on the very hot and very crispy bird. The only problem is the crowds: if you are really hungry, time your trip at an off hour, though it may well be crowded then too. This is shirt-sleeves casual; you could probably even stroll up in your PJs and no one would blink. |
