The Boarding House Restaurant Review

: Alpana Singh, a master sommelier, has stepped away from her show-hosting responsibilities to open this massive, lofty, four-story spot hung with showy chandeliers. On the menu are New American eats, with Quebecois touches. Unfortunately, it doesn’t consistently delight. Stick with the respectable Cognac-accented chicken liver mousse, offset by sweet fig jam. The kale Caesar with white anchovies and a red wine-poached egg is fine enough, too. Come to think of it, the chicken three ways, a preparation for two, is the best of the bunch: it comes fried, braised and roasted and stuffed with dried fruit. The wine list, as one would expect, is vast and striking, with something interesting for all price points.
