The Boarding House Restaurant Review

: Alpana Singh, a master sommelier, has stepped away from her show-hosting responsibilities to open this massive, lofty, four-story spot hung with showy chandeliers. On the menu are New American eats, with Quebecois touches inspired by chef Christian Gosselin’s roots. Unfortunately, it doesn’t consistently delight. Stick with the respectable Cognac-accented chicken liver mousse, offset by sweet fig jam. The kale Caesar with white anchovies and a red wine-poached egg is fine enough, too. Come to think of it, the chicken three ways, a preparation for two, is the best of the bunch: it comes fried, braised and roasted and stuffed with dried fruit. The wine list, as one would expect, is vast and striking, with something interesting for all price points.
