An icy, bracing martini to sip while relaxing in a plush armchair: that's what you want at the Bombay Club, with its imperial British ambience. The bar does not disappoint. But while the extensive list of martini-style cocktails is a specialty of this operation, which is tucked away as practically an inner-sanctum of the Prince Conti Hotel, the kitchen produces a dinner menu that shouldn't be forsaken. Filet mignon wearing a ribbon of Stilton has the right tenderness and moistness, as does the "duck duet" pairing a leg of duck confit and pepper-seared boneless breast with a raspberry duck reduction. Too heavy? Try the blackened sea scallops with crushed corn sauce. We like the respectable collection of California wines, and the panna cotta dessert is the ideal ending for every meal.
